Mid-afternoon we fly on to Broken Hill where we can take a stroll around town and enjoy welcome drinks and dinner at the Palace Hotel, famous for its role in the hit movie Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

    Accommodation: Royal Exchange Hotel.

  • Today we have a town tour of Broken Hill to see some of the local sites before heading to the nearby town of Silverton. • This morning we continue our exploration of Broken Hill and its deep mining history. We also touch on their unique art scene with a visit to the Pro Hart Gallery. Internationally renowned artist, Pro Hart, enjoyed a variety of mediums and cars were no exception!

In the afternoon we depart Broken Hill and cross the Flinders Ranges with their unusual shapes and vivid colours. We'll stop for a short fuel stop in Leigh Creek, a unique town that was until recently a large coal mine.

The day finishes in Coober Pedy where we have the chance to enjoy dinner overlooking this charming outback town as the sun sets for the evening.

    Accommodation: Comfort Inn

  • Today is all things opal as we explore the town and opal workings. We visit a private claim in the opal fields, an underground church, the spectacular Breakaways and much more for an in-depth exploration of Coober Pedy. We see how the locals live and even get to stay in a former opal mine turned accommodation.
