Itinerary

  • Arriving at Archerfield at 8:00 am, we meet as a group at the Archerfield historic passenger terminal and have a quick safety presentation. In no time at all, we have everyone aboard the aircraft and are on the way to our first destination.

The first stop on the tour is St George. We lunch at the Riversands Vineyard a local winery and tour the historic Anchorage Homestead.

Cunnamulla is our final destination today, staying at the Cunnamulla Boutique Hotel. On arrival, we do an introduction tour around the town, get settled-in and take a stroll down the main street. After dinner you can visit the Cunnamulla Hot Springs for a post-dinner dip in their geothermal open-air mineral pools. A lovely way to unwind after your first day of adventure.

  • Departing Cunnamulla we have a short fuel stop in Thargomindah before we then fly to Noccundra for morning tea. You are now truly outback, back of beyond …! How many ways can you say middle of no where?

From noccundra we head across the queensland outback to overfly Cameron’s Corner, where the borders of Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia meet. Onwards to Marree our lunch spot at the pub, a member of the iconic pubs of Australia. Follwoing a town tour and as the sun starts to set we head towards southern Lake Eyre and our final stop of the day, William Creek. Don’t forget to try your hand at star photography as the sky here is just spectacular.

  • We leave William Creek and head for the northern Lake Eyre which we fully cross from west to east. Remember any water present has traveled all the way from far north Queensland! The landscape now changes to that of the channel country and the Strezlecki Desert. We land at Nappa Merrie to view the famous Dig Tree of Burke and Wills. Take a moment on reflect on the hardship of the land.

After the Dig Tree we board for a quick flight to Innamincka, an iconic pub of the outback with a population of 21 (2021)! Time for morning tea before heading to Charleville via the Channel Country. In Charleville we visit the bilbies at a special nocturnal house and then join a tour of the old town cemetery for all the town gossip. Find out more about the men and women from the 1800's who helped build this wonderful outback town.

  • Last day and unfortunately all good tours do have to end. Following a hearty breakfast and a chance to swap photos and details, we head to the airport for our final flight back to Archerfield. The landscape changes back to the green of agriculture and the hills of the coastal ranges. Brisbane city appears on the horizon and we are now on approach for our final landing.

Thanks for joining us as we explore this great country and hope to see you again in the sky!

We have just returned from the most amazing 6 days flying to areas we would never have had the time to see other ways. It was a fantastic way to travel and experience parts of our vast country. The vast outback scenescapes, and the local people we met were the highlights for us. James was a wonderful pilot and guide who provided experiences beyond our expectations. Would highly recommend this company to all.
